- Cascadia GBC is the US Green Building Council's 'branch' in the Pacific north-west,
and is also a member of the Canada GBC. They have a 'leaf' in the Klamath Basin.
- The Collins Companies website describes the Collins Companies' history and
philosophy, and the importance of their certified forests, which Collins calls their "Journey to Sustainability".
- The GreenWay EcoMart in Klamath Falls sells natural foods, energy-conserving items,
and other natural and sustainable goods to the public.
- Habitat for Humanity's 'ReStore' in Klamath Falls is a primary source for used
building materials. They also accept for recycling: computer monitors, TV's, laptops, and computer towers. They are on
Washburn Way, in the old Grange Co-op building. Currently they're open 10AM - 4PM T-Th-Sat, but you might want to phone
541-850-2173 to make sure.
- Klamath Solar Ass'n has no webpage. (541) 883-8410 may reach someone. [They used to?] Hold monthly meetings with
presentations on alternative energy sources and topics in green building.
- Precision Structural Engineering, Inc. is Nabil Taha's civil engineering firm in
Klamath Falls. It was the first firm in southern Oregon to offer expertise in alternative construction.
He has designed numerous straw-bale and other alternative-style buildings, including those of Jerome Brown & Carol Reed in Bonanza;
Karen Little at Modoc Point; [others that people know of? Should we ask Nabil for further examples?].

- Builders Without Borders is an international network of ecological builders
who advocate the use of straw, earth and other local, affordable materials in construction.
- Buiding Green.com is a publishing company centered around the green building industry. THey do Environmental Building News, GreenSpec product directory, LEED user documentation, and others.
- Center for Resourceful Building Technology - offshoot of NCAT
- Centre for Alternative Technology in Britain.
- CoHousing Network Covers the co-housing side of sustainable housing issues.
- Design Outlaws strives to promote non-conventional thinking, courageous vision,
and positive actions in ways relevant to the ecological design community.
- Designtex offers innovative textiles, wallcoverings and surface solutions for any environment.
They are a manufacturer of sustainable and microbial upholstery.
- DOE's Building Energy Codes Program
- An "earthship" is a building made from old tires. Earthship Biotecture is the organization
at the center of the earthship movement.
- The Florida Design Initiative attempts to help
reorient the building industry toward construction of high-performance, energy-efficient buildings.
- Forbo Flooring is a supplier of linoleum products composed of renewable raw materials.
- Lighthouse Sustainable Building Centre is a non-profit dedicated to
advancing green building and the sustainable infrastructure.
- A Milk jug igloo built with hot glue and cardboard
in a school in MI. Took 428 jugs, plus a few 1/2-gal ones. Shelter in an afternoon! (But does it shed rain?)
- Miriam Landman is an advisor and consultant on green building,
and more generally on issues of sustainability.
- The National Park Service presents this document describing carpets,
means of carpet recycling, and various manufacturers that are doing this. [These also need to be in the 'green business' section.]
- The 'passivHaus' is a German idea that is gaining wide publicity.
Basically, it uses no energy beyond what is given off by the inhabitants and their daily activities.
