Loca Institute. The Loka Institute is a non-profit research and advocacy organization concerned with the social, political, and environmental repercussions of science and technology. Works toward environmentally responsible uses of science and technology.
The Natural Step. The Natural Step is a non-profit organization that is working to build an ecologically and economically sustainable society. Its framework is based on science and has been used by businesses, government agencies, communities and individuals that desire to become more sustainable. TNS was founded by Swedish oncologist, Dr.Karl-Henrik Robert in 1989.
CoHousing Network. CoHousing Network Covers sustainable housing issues.
Union of Concerned Scientists. Union of Concerned Scientists - Scientists and citizens working together towards environmentally sustainable practices.
Siskiyou Project. The Siskiyou Regional Education Project - The Siskiyou Project works to protect the ecological integrity and biodiversity of the Klamath-Siskiyou Bioregion.
The National Audubon Society. League of Women Voters. League of Women Voters - The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan political organization that encourages the active participation of informed citizens to increase understanding of and influence public policy issues. This site encourages involvement in various campaigns, not only at the national level but also within individual communities. It is updated on a regular basis.
Population Connection. Population Connection is the national grassroots population organization that educates young people and advocates progressive action to stabilize world population at a level that can be sustained by Earth's resources.
The American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE). The American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE) is a non-profit organization "dedicated to advancing energy efficiency as a means of promoting both economic prosperity and environmental protection." Their program areas include national, regional and state energy policies, utilities, industry and transportation, such as a Green Guide to Cars and Trucks for energy efficient economy.
Izaak Walton League. Izaak Walton League - founded in 1922, the Izaak Walton League is one of the nation's oldest and most respected conservation organizations. With a powerful grassroots network of nearly 300 local chapters nationwide, the League takes a common-sense approach toward protecting our country's natural heritage and improving outdoor recreation opportunities for all Americans.
Center for a New American Dream. Center for a New American Dream - provides lots of info on sustainability issues, especially to help reduce consumption. "More fun, less stuff" is their motto.

Population Press. Population Press is a publication of Blue Planet United, a non-profit organization dedicated to education and grassroots action on issues of environment, population, and sustainability.
Green America. Green America offers The National Green Pages - a directory listing nearly 3,000 businesses that have made firm commitments to sustainable, socially just principles, including the support of sweatshop-free labor, organic farms, fair trade, and cruelty-free products.
Northwest Earth Institute. Northwest Earth Institute is recognized as a national leader in the development of innovative programs that empower individuals and organizations to transform culture toward a sustainable and enriching future.

Life Cycle: The science behind sustainability

Sustainable Resource Management Interest Group. The Sustainable Resource Management Interest Group at the University of Washington focuses on helping students develop an integrated set of skills concentrating on silvicultural principles and practices, business management, forest economics, forest biometrics, remote sensing, and operations research.
